It has been a while. If you are going to be creating and keeping the QuickBooks databases for your clients, I would take a couple of things into consideration. You would want to have a main server with a good amount of hard drive space to support multiple QuickBooks files. You would also want to make sure that in the event that your hard drive fails, you have a backup. Some type of RAID setup would be worth the investment. You might also consider performing some sort of off-site backup so if your server goes down or gets stolen; you still have a backup plan. Last but not least, remember that the sync engine must run on a computer that has QuickBooks installed and is open the most often.

Companies such as Insynq and Right Networks host QuickBooks files so that might be another option for you. Hopefully, sometime in the very near future, we will be working as partners with one or both of these companies. ;-) Stay tuned!

However I am running into a bit of a problem.

As an ISP I hold many clients files and am looking into moving them to method.

I have 5 workstations and a 1 server(Not top of the line) for internal use this is adequate but not if I am to start hosting several QuickBooks files.

What solutions or setup do you recommend or have heard of other accountants using for hosting multiple data files to use with Method?

As it stands it looks like I would need a separate system for each data file, or to partner with a hosting company to host the files in a virtual environment.

Thanks in advance.
