    No rows selected error/conditional warning

Currently when using a grid loop action for selected rows if no row is selected an automatic conditional warning shows and no other actions get processed.

There are a number of circumstances where not completing the action set is problematic.  For example,  when creating an invoice from billable time and expenses from more than 1 grid, sometimes a grid deliberately has no selected items.

In addition to the current conditional warning would it be possible to have a new action that tests for whether a grid has any rows checked?   This would allow us catch and handle the error before Method does.

I can ask the team about your request and see what they say.

I will say the Loop Through Grid functionality is correct and I think re-working part of your action to take out any actions that don't need to run in the loop would be best.  If you put those actions into an event and used the Call Another Action Set action you could conceivably call that action inside the loop (where it is now) and again from somewhere else.  You're still stuck with the problem of a conditional warning and the loop not running when there are no checked rows so you'll have to rethink things here.

Is there any chance you can adjust your process to run on all rows and maybe use filters and selection lists to filter on the fly?

    Chad

We're currently using a series of checkboxes for user to indicate whether a grid is included or not.

I've put a request into my team here with your suggested changes to the Loop Through Grid action - I can't say when or if this will make it into Method but I'll keep you updated.

Thanks Chad.  I had also mentioned this to Val at Scaling New Heights.

@LaCrews, and anyone watching this thread:

The "October Version", when it comes out, will have an advanced option for "Start Loop Through Grid" called "Suppress warning when no rows are checked". This will default to off. If you turn it on, then when there are no rows selected, Start Loop Through Grid will use continue on and ignore that fact that it looped through 0 rows, and not warn you.
