    Problem with Payment Gateway

We have signed up for Authorize.Net and have found that the payment gateway isn't rejecting cards as it should.  Here is what I have test and the results:

    Bad number:

Bad Expiration Year DID save, NO ERROR

Bad Expiration Month DID save, NO ERROR

Bad Name DID save, NO ERROR

Bad Address DID save, NO ERROR

Bad CID DID save, NO ERROR

    _____

It also appears that no AVS information nor Authorization Code is filling in.  Any idea how we can fix this?

I am in test mode for Authorize.Net.  Is that the reason?

Method does some basic validation of the info entered before passing it to the payment gateway and gateway does the rest of the validation.

In regards to AVS read this.

    Michael -

I took it out of test mode today and I keep getting the error "THE PAYMENT DID NOT PROCESS
ERROR Reason for error:Bill To City is required. Description of Error:"  In the Receive Payment screen I can't specify the city, state or zip, only address line and zip code.  I have removed the requirement to authorize the address from Authorize.net.  What else can I do to make this work?  BTW - It is a payment not associated with an Invoice.

I made an Invoice and tried to apply a payment to an Invoice and it also came back with the same error.  Please help, we are hoping to go live with payment processing today.

    Hi Emily-

In the Credit Card Processing action it lets you set a City for the customer, you would have to customize the screen and add a city field and update the action to make use of that field.

Those error messages come straight from the credit card processor method just returns it.

Ok, I have done that and also needed to add Billing State.  So now I get a message the the phone is required, yet in the CC processing action, there is no call for the Phone number.

I can add a suggestion to have Phone Number added to the Credit Card Processing Action, but I won't be able to give you an ETA of if or when it will be added.

I am confused why you say you support Authorize.Net when it keeps requiring more information.  I have reviewed the settings online with Authorize.Net and I can't find where to not look at those fields.  Do you have any suggestions how I can make this work?  Either with Method or Authorize.Net?

    Hi Emily-

Method does support Authorize.net. I did a quick search and based on the developer guide for Authorize.net (Page 26 Link ), the phone number should be optional. You may have to contract Authorize.net about the phone number being required (This may be a setting within AVS), on our end here at Method, I can only make a request to have the phone number added as one of the fields to the Credit Card Processing action.

    Re: Problem with Payment Gateway

    Answer

Here is what I figured out.  Our engineering team had made adjustments to the Authorize.Net settings in order to sell a few select items online.  I couldn't find where I could state anything was required, but their tech support directed me to log in, go to Account -> Payment Form and there you control what is required or not (I was thinking it would be in the authorization section)

Thank you for the help, I really don't see a need for a required Phone number, but since it was tied in with our online item sales form, it caused an issue.
