But, just in case for other times - is there a way to filter a dropdown similar to assigning a view on a screen load or something similar?

Re: Filtering dropdown menus

One way you can do this is by adding a new field to the Vendor table which lists the names of your Method Users. Edit the CRM_VendorList screen to assign each Vendor the appropriate user. Now you can edit your Purchase Order screen and add a filter which matches the Vendor's assigned Method User with the currently logged in User. This will be future proof so whenever more Vendors/User's are added, no extra customization will be needed.

Is this user only going to have access to these 8 vendors and not have access to the other current vendor, basically will this list be static or need to change over time?

Can someone please point me in the right direction to filter a dropdown menu?
For example, I have a setup where a user only needs access to 8 vendors. On the Grid I have a custom filter to show only those 8.

This user also has access to create a PO, but only for those 8 specific vendors. That is where I have the problem - the dropdown for "Vendor" shows the entire list.

They don't even want him to see that there are other vendors or be able to create POs for any except his vendors.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,
