This is causing major issues and should not happen.

I need this fixed ASAP - please suggest a course of action.

I never want them to be different, and I know QuickBooks doesn't support that anyway.

But I find I'm able to change some, but not others, and I end up with customers that have one sales rep for the parent and staff subaccount, and another sales rep for the main account.

Re: Changing Sales Rep Associations for Customers

Hi Mike,

I'd like to investigate this further but what is your end goal here? Do you want to be able to have different Sales Reps assigned to the Parent Customer and Jobs? If so, this is potentially going to cause issues as this isn't something that can be done in QuickBooks. It can be done in Method but again may cause some repricussions down the road in QuickBooks.

What happens when you set the same Sales Rep for the Parent customer and all Jobs in Method?

When you're changing the Sales Rep are you leaving the Sales Rep field blank then saving? This will revert back to the Sales Rep previously assigned.

All I want to do is assign different sales reps to certain customers. I am starting with individual accounts and then if that works, I can use the export/import function in Method to do a few at once. But the problem is, my changes do not seem to stick.

I did the following test:

Changed the sales rep for a parent account - this worked

Changed the sales rep for the parent account's main account subaccount - this worked initially upon saving, but when revisiting a few minutes later, it reverted back to the original sales rep

Changed the sales rep for the parent account's staff subaccount - this worked.

Please give me some insight as to why this may be happening. I have tested this previously before and I know that if individual ones won't accept changes, then a mass change in Method won't work either. The only way for me to change sales rep associations is to export the IIF file in QuickBooks and re-import, which kind of defeats the purpose of using Method for this.

There does not appear to be a good reason why this is happening and this is a basic function that should work.

Please help.

Thank you.
