Opportunities would be a viable option for your in the interim but what do you mean by turn Opportunities into an editable dropdown list? Are you referring to the Opportunity Name field? If so I wouldn't suggest that as there are other fields/tables that link to this field and in order to to change it to a dropdown type field you would have to delete it and recreate it.

We are a small non-profit with 0 budget so the option of paying a consultant is out the window unfortunately. Hence me trying to learn method myself and create our own customizable version.

I see you can have more than one opportunity for a customer, so is it then viable to use opportunities for our fund raising events(campaings)? Maybe turn opportunities into a drop down list which is editable?

Re: Campaign Question

Hi Ben B,

The Campaign feature in Method is used to record how that particular contact/lead became a customer, i.e. from a Newspapwer campaign. The way that you'll be using it is different as you're assigning customers to a campaign, then you want to assign them to another campaign for another purpose, and potentially assign them to even more campaigns. You mentioned calling certain customers who are assigned to that campaign, this is like a mini project management utilization so the "out-of-box" Method CRM does not have something built for this. Something like this can probably be done but will require customization. I would suggest speaking with one of our in-house Consultants or a Method Solution Provider in order to scope out your project and figure out the best route to take.

If you're interested in speaking with one of our Consultants please let me know.

So far so good but I have one challenge that I was wondering if their is a simple solution to.

We often assign contacts to more than one campaign, I see currently that you can only have 1 campaign per customer. For example we have a fund raising campaign this summer which we want to assign contacts in a certain area too. Some of those contacts will also be called from a fund raising call campaign that will be happening around the same time.

Any suggerstions?

thanks in advance.
