Yup you're getting it now! Just to be streamlined I would say type the Yes/No words with a capitalized first letter. Yes you can add a separate Yes/No field for each division to your Customer table. Just remember that you will then need to create copies of your Customer/Lead screens in order to be able to use your new custom fields.

Ahh. This is starting to come together a little bit then. So even though I am importing this list as "CustomerLeads", there is no CustomerLeads table/fields. It is really the same thing as the Customer table. Leads when converted to a customer then transfers the data in the lead table to equal the data in the customer table. So by adding the checkbox in the New Lead screen, I have created a checkbox, but it doesn't actually tie into any data. So in this case, I will have a Yes/No box for Xcel and then a Yes/No box for each division. The CSV uses the language "Unchecked", so I will just change that to No (with a Capital N?). The divisions was not so elaborate on the last CRM and did not take into consideration multi-divisional issues. So I will actually add columns for each division, and place a Yes in any applicable one, otherwise I wil leave it blank, so it defaults to No or unchecked. Do I have that correct?

Hi theavspecialist,

You need to create the Yes/No fields in the Customer table first, then you can edit your screen to delete the current Yes/No field you're using and select the field which you just added to your table. Then edit your CSV file to include this column as well, and enter the word Yes for all rows with records. The default value in Method is No, so your current customers/leads in Method will have a value of No.

Again, as stated above, you would need to create the Yes/No fields in the Customer table first. These fields will all be different fields, not linked. In regard to sending emails to the appropriate contacts in the future, we are implementing Tags into Method so it will be easier to filter and select contacts. However, it may not be the best route depending on how you want it to work. I would suggest speaking with an in-house Consultants or one of our Method Solution Providers to scope out your project, specifically the part regarding emailing certain people, to figure out the best route to take.

For the New Lead screen, we need to have a few checkboxes or equivalent. One is a true/false type: "Xcel customer yes/no?". This one is important as it is a field that needs populating when I import the csv file. Using my test file with one entry, I can't seem to match this field to the checkbox I have created on the new New Lead form. Maybe there is a better way.

The second set of checkboxes is for division of interest. Since we have multiple divisions, we want to check all the apporpriate boxes depending upon their needs. Right now, I created multipe checkbox fields in the New Lead form. But again, maybe there is a better way, so they are all linked together., as opposed to being technically different fields. In the near future I would want an email to go to the appropriate division head if a box is checked, or a designated multi-divisional person if multiple boxes are checked, so they don't get multiple points of contact.
