Once you've added the new dropdown field to the grid on your customized screen (and made the grid editable), Publish/Save the screen, then from Customize > Screens you can use the Screen Name filter field to search for your new screen (ReportMethod). You'll want to highlight the screen name then click the View button that appears to the left of it. Once it loads you'll see the grid which you have customized and be able to associate your Method Users with their Reports.

Correction to the first sentence in my previous post; it should read "This can be done through customization and will work well for your organization but only of other users don't need to print templates as well."

And to answer your last question, yes the solution I mentioned can be implemented even if you don't have the Pro version. Hope this helps!

This can be done through customization and will work well for your organization but only if other users (that don't have their own templates) need to print templates as well. If you want a truly fool-proof solution where other users may accidentally print out other users templates then what you can do is the following:

Edit the ReportMethod table and add a new Dropdown field based off the Users table which pulls the UserName field.
Then create a screen based off the ReportMethod table and edit it to include this new field, make sure to make the grid editable. You can then access the screen and link your Method users with their respective reports.
Now you can customize the QuickBooks_Estimate screen and make a minor change to the Retrieve Value From Table action in the Print Preview button so that the report linked with the current logged in user is utilized.
There may be a potential issue if more than one of your users try to print the template for the same estimate at the same time.

More work will be required if you want users to be able to email the estimate. If you feel this is out of your comfort zone then you can always speak with an in-house Consultant or one of our Method Solution Providers (MSP). The only thing that is different between the templates is contact information for each user. Otherwise, the template auto generates the same information from the estimate details. All of the users responsible for creating estimates have their own custom template.

Out of curiosity, are the users templates completely customized for each person or are only certain things changed, i.e. name, position, number, etc?

Do you have other users, which don't have their own custom templates, that will also need to utilize templates as well?

Default Estimate Templates for Different Users

We would like our users to each have their own default estimate template when creating estimates for customers. I have created the different templates and showed them how to choose their custom print template, however, when one goes in to choose their template, it will change the default template for the other users as well. Is there a way to disable this so that the users only have to choose their default template once and not worry about the other users accidentally changing it for the group?
