Sorry for the delay in the response.

If the main computer has the method integration engine off, then nothing will sync over. When you re-connect the sync engine, the information will be passed over. You can still work with Method and QuickBooks during the time the engine is off.

what happens if the main computer with the method integration engine is off line for 2 or 3 weeks, will I be able to work in the other computer and will it synch with QB?

Hello Marcelo,

I wanted to reiterate what I said here. I had an internal discussion and realized I didn't fully comprehend your post. To reiterate, you have the QuickBooks file on an external hard drive. Two computers with QuickBooks can access the file and make changes. Also, you would be using multi-user mode in QuickBooks. In this scenario, you would choose one computer to be the main computer and install the Method Integration Engine. This computer would be the one who does the main syncing. On the other computer, you can install the Method Listener to allow real time sync to Method.

Hello Marcelo,

You can only have one QuickBooks file open with one Method Integration Engine (MIE) running. If you are opening the QuickBooks file on the DiskStation, that is where the MIE would go. There is no need to put the MIE anywhere else. If you are running QuickBooks in multi-users mode, then the changes would be transfered to the QuickBooks database and picked up from the DiskStation by the MIE.

If I keep my QB company file an a back up hard drive like Synology Disk Station so I can work from two computers, do I have to install method in the two computers or in the back up station?
