Hi Kent,

Because of the way QBO works, it is not actually possible to delete a customer. They are simply made inactive and marked as "(deleted)".

The only way I can think to fix this would be to figure out the RecordIDs for the Customers you imported and use the Import/Export Tool to mass-update them all, changing their names to something like "Deleted 0001", "Deleted 0002", etc. and making them all inactive. You could then re-import your original list as Leads, because their names would no longer be present in the table.

Hi Kent,

Did you have any customers in QuickBooks before the import, or was it a brand new QuickBooks account? If you already had customers, those would also get deleted.

Hello,

It seems like there is no way that I can delete all customers and completely reset my database? Can you help me get that done?

I made a mistake and imported 2500ish records as CUSTOMERS not LEADS and now it is completely toast.

I do now understand how to get it done properly but I need the current/old data dumped before I (correctly) enter the new leads...

Any help much apprecated.
