Can this work for the employee screen? If so, how can I make that stick? I tried that already, but I cannot make it save properly.

Hi InstaDRY,

The Users table doesn't have a stock screen associated with it. You could create a screen to interface with it in order to add your hyperlinks, or you could use our Import / Export Tool to update the table. To create a screen would be more work now but would streamline the process for future, the Import / Export Tool route is a better option if you're not going to be entering data for this field too often.

Hi Justin,

Thank you for your response the other day in the Forum. I updated the tables as instructed, but I’m having issue of adding to the screen. Which screen does the users table show up in? I checked the employee screen and cannot find it in there.

Hi InstaDRY,

You could add a text field to your Users table to store the link, then add that as a Linked Field to your Activity table, linking it through the AssignedTo dropdown. This will ensure that any AssignedTo's WebLink will be available in your Activity table (which is where work orders are stored), and will depend on the user selected in the AssignedTo dropdown. You may need to mail merge for your email template to work, but do some testing first to see if it works without that.

We have specific web page for each technician and the send outs are controlled by one user for several technicians who do not have access to Method. They are listed as a user with no logon access in the system. Each link is specific to the technician, but the work orders for the technicians with the AssignedTo function.

We send out the e-mails with button that will send out e-mails.

I'll need a bit more information.

What do you mean by "landing page"? What's the difference between the links you want to insert? By "follow up" button I'm assuming you mean the button that sends the emails?

Custom Links in auto e-mails

At the end of the day, we click on each work order and click a button to send a follow up e-mail. Now, we are getting a little more creative. We have created a landing page for each technician performing the job with a custom link. Is there any way to auto format the links in the e-mail template to the "assigned to" on the follow up button? Do I need to create a field for each employee for the landing page?
