I've just set up Intuit Merchant services but I am unable to get the confirmation number to enable the Method integration, do I need to add additional services to the Intuit account (ie Web Store or Hosted Pay Page)....????

This issue is being addressed here.

Rajni,

When you process a card in Method, it send the info to your CC processor and it does the processing/charging and just return a message if it been processed or not. Click HERE for additonal info.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your reply. So from Methods we cannot authorize the credit card and then process, it is only we process the Credit Card and charge the Customer. Please correct if my understanding is wrong.

Rajni,

Just to add all Method does is pass the info to your CC processor and it takes over from there and the processor returns a message letting Method know if it has been processed or not.

Method currently only supports charging a credit card and does not have any means to just validate the credit card.

Hi,

I want to validate the Credit Card Number given by the user is valid or invalid. I have tried to use the action Credit Card Processing but this is taking doing the transaction in the customer account.

Can you please let me know is there any way so that i can validate the credit card rataher than charging the Credit Card.

OK, thanks. I'm sure we want to keep Intuit Merchant services, as we have quite a bit of autopay's set up there. So I'm guessing they would like to have the techs enter the credit card data for it to be contained in Quickbooks, most likely the charges wold be run by myself. But there is a big difference if it has to be set up as a one-time charge, or a recurring, either way, once entered in quickbooks, the majority of the data is x'ed out for privacy, don't know if cut and paste would work.

Would setting this up in a screen be something I could do, or is that something we would need to pay you guys to do as an custom apps.

I'm also concerned about sending all that credit card data, how secure would it be and we sure don't want to expose it to hacking....

Hi,

Let’s take this one step at a time. Allowing the tech’s to enter credit card data from the field using Method and sending this data to QB is pretty easy if you have the screen set up to do so.

The question is…where are you ‘processing’ or should I say charging the credit card?

(1) Collecting the data in the field and charging the card later in QB should be fine. This will of course feed into QuickBooks merchant services as it does now.

(2) Collecting the data and charging via Method will not work unless you have customized Method and set up the merchant services in Method. Unfortunately we do not currently support Intuit Merchant Services so this may be something for you to consider.

Ok, i'm new to method, but having pretty good luck with getting everything working correctly, scheduling, invoicing, etc. However, bosses want to be able to have the technicians in the field enter credit card data, and have it tie into our QuickBooks payment processing (merchant services), ie, show up in Quickbooks. From what I can tell, this isn't a function, saw some messages about adding extra client payment options, such as paypal, but that's not what I'm looking for. Any answers? - I'm thinking, no, we can't do this and need to keep this as a Quickbooks only capability.
