Hey Gayla,

Sorry I did not get back to you earlier, I did look into this and our development team has resolved it. You are now able to assign serial numbers to Assembly Items.

You are correct in that you can only assign a serial number after you receive the Item. However, You must turn on serial number tracking before you receive the Item into its bin.

The correct steps are:

1. Turn on Serial Number Tracking in Method.

2. Receive the Items.

3. Go to the Bin for your Item, and assign a serial number under the "Serial Numbers in this Bin" tab section.

It seems as though you can only input serial numbers during incoming receipt of a purchase order? Is that a true statement? Also, I have not been able to assign a serial number to an item that was completed to manufacturing receiving via build assemblies. How do I do this? The serial number tracking box is checked against the item.

A user submitted the following question:

I followed the Webinar instructions on setting up serial number tracking. I have verified that the "is serial number tracking required?" box is checked against the item however, I am still not able to populate the serial number field within the bin. I noticed that when I open the "S/N in this bin" tab I don't see the "Automatically inserted by the sync engine" text that appeared in your Webinar.

How do I correct this issue?
