I use t tuffbooks laptop on a ram mount with a verisom wifi hot spot.

Good morning!

I am using method classic right now using schedule and invoice. Using a verizion 3g eclips10 tablet. Works super! Put a otter box on that unit. Plus I made chrome go to my gmail account and i can use method wigets in gmail. I am purtty happy with it. The only issue is calander. You can not drag a appointment around like you can the new method.

My new setup will be using panisonic tough pad 7 inch. Those things a bullet proof and you can ware it. Might be a little bulky but I am going to try it out soon.

Hi Maureen,

Field Services for Method:New is definitely on the roadmap for us. I cant give an exact ETA on its availability, but its certainly in the works as we speak.

Thanks for the reply. We have tried doing work orders on iPads, tablets and chromebooks in the past with only poor results. The iPad is not happy doing them even on WiFi. I wouldn't even attempt to do one on a phone because of the size of a work order. And the "mobile" version of Method Classic is not a viable option. I'm hoping that maybe someone in the community has found a good setup that works well. Can you tell me if getting field service running on the new method is in the works?

Hi there Maureen,

I cant personally say what device the would be 'Best' for field work, but any newer generation Phone or Tablet (with SIM card/Data Plan) should give you no grief!

Perhaps you could swing by a BestBuy (or any electronics retailer that has demo models) to test out how Method Looks on various devices?

Maybe some of our helpful community members have some better suggestions.

Can someone please make a recommendation regarding the best device or setup to use for doing work orders in Field Service Manager on 3g and LTE areas with no wifi access?
