An update on Friday's intermittent service.

Since we were not able to determine the source of the problem by day end Friday, we made the decision to add an additional web server to the server farm - just to ensure we weren't taking any chances. Some of our developers spent the weekend getting it setup - just to be safe (thanks for the sacrifice Manish, David and Victor, you guys are awesome).

Since the original post on Friday, service has continued uninterrupted, however, we continue to monitor the servers closely. You might have noticed some minor hiccups to the methodintegration.com website later today as we brought the newly configured server online, but no interruptions to Method itself.

If we have any further updates or information to share, we'll post it up to this forum post.

Appreciate your understanding. We consider ourselves your business partner, and we'll always be up front with any issue we face.

Best place for updates is always www.twitter.com/followmethod since this is on a completely different server than all method sites.

Heads-up - intermittent service this afternoon and evening

Hey everyone,

We're having some service issues this afternoon. You might have noticed that the service on Method has been alternating between running normally to running at a very slow speed.

While it is running fine normally right now, we have not gotten to the root of the problem. Everything is pointing towards the "load balancer" right now. The load balancer switches traffic between our web servers - i.e. when you go to www it figures out which Method server has the lowest number of users and sends you to that one.

We are working with Rackspace to figure out the issue. We'll report back as soon as we know more.

One tip, if you find a problem is happening, you can try going directly to web1.methodintegration.com/method/login.aspx to log in, as it might be a temporary solution while we get to the bottom of the issue.

Of course, we sincerly apologize for any interuption to your use of Method and to your business operations.
