A flowchart visually illustrates the steps in a process. When you display a process in this manner, you can quickly point out bottlenecks or inefficiencies so that the process may be streamlined or improved.

When creating your applications using Method, a flowchart can also act as a "to-do" list for your application. Indicating what "Actions" need to be created to perform certain tasks.

If it's a simple application you are creating, a flowchart may not be that useful. However, when you try creating a larger application, such as QXpress, you need it to keep track of what decisions each action is going to do.

Sounds like you'll be creating a flow chart. It's the only way to see where things will be going from point A - B.

I'm positive you'll get the hang of it. Although, it is a totally different way of thinking.

I'm also going to need graph paper so that I can create a map and actually think things out before I go and just start pushing buttons. Something that I am no used to

LOL - I have absolutely no concerns when it comes to Kevin Taylor and Method getting along. You two will be best friends. You just need to adjust to the idea of a completely DIY system, and in turn we need to get you (1) the scheduling calendar, and (2) more movie tutorials. :)

That's fair. Really, without a specific "application" you are trying to duplicate, or a specific business problem you are trying to solve, it remains an online version of QuickBooks data. Which in itself is great - but certainly not what Method is all about. Since you are coming at it from the QXpress mentality, you won't be able to duplicate what QXpress does until it has a scheduling calendar, then you'll be a kid in a candy store.

You don't need a programmer - you just need a vision of what you want to create. How about an equipment maintenance application?

We'll get a couple more movies on the blog and you'll start to see how to customize things.

One of the immediate things to play with, though, will be the Third Party Portal. That's something QXpress doesn't have.that you can get up and running right away.

Well, day two. I am starting to understand the relationship between tables, screens, tabs. Also learning not to delete stuff. While I think that this will be a great way to keep information about customers ect. I am having a hard time trying to "see" this program doing more.

If it can do more, then the "more" part will definatly have to be created by a programmer. The Template thing. Like, scheduling, tracking and job costing are only three. I did find where you can create summary type fields and from the looks of it create some formulas. However, I have no idea how to use these. Is there going to be a manual? Or is this going to be a trial and error kinda thing similar to creating a TD2 template/report? Speaking of templates/reports? Where?

Am I getting way ahead of myself? Do I need to step back and just look at creating tables, screens, tabs? Sorry for the rant.
