I found that their item list contains more than 50 of similar items zzz-zzz-0010 / zzz-zzz-0020 etc etc a few groups go past 50. I think we're going to re-work their item list to keep it in groups of 50 so their field techs and speedily create the invoices.

They don't have to be that familar. As you type in, it is a "search contains", not a "search starts with", so as long as they have some idea of what they are looking for they'll find it - which they would really have to..........who wants to scroll through hundreds or thousands of items without having a clue of what they are looking for?

What I mean is that if I search for search contains is that if you search for "Tree", it would pull up:

DoubleTree
Pine Tree
Treehouse
Tree:Red
Tree:Blue

Philip,

It shows the first 50 items. See this post http://methodintegration.com/cs/forums/t/235.aspx.

It's a web app, so it has to be smart. What if there were 15,000 items in their item list? It would take forever for the item list to download over the internet each time.

So what we do is show the first 50, and then leave it up to you to type into the dropdown list and it will automatically start bringing the first 50 that match what you are typing.

Customer Center / Invoices / Add_Edit Invoices / Details / Item Drop Down List

The item drop down list does not show all items for the client's QB item list. For them to create invoices, they need to have access to all of their items.
