The link I referred you to was for QB Desktop and since you are a QBO user it will not be a good solution for you. When you create a PO in Method it will be synced over to QuickBooks Online and you will be able to access it from either Method or QBO. The best bet may be to create a new table and screen for RMA's

My understanding is that in order to create a PO, you need to select a vendor, not a customer. So, in order to do the proposed method, I would have to create a second instance of every customer as also a vendor? Or can you merge and link them in Method so you have one entry viewed as vendor OR customer which will then sync to Quickbooks? Also, when you custom set it to create a PO off a case, will it redirect to QuickBooks Online new PO record, or will it be a Purchase Order in Method that will then sync over to Quickbooks. I am concerned the solution may be directed more towards Quickbooks Desktop versus Quickbooks Online.

Take a look at this post on the Intuit forums HERE (Second post), it describes using a PO in QuickBooks for a RMA, the same concept can be applied to Method. It would be possible to create a new table for Items in Method that is used in conjunction with Cases and you could have a Create RMA button that creates a PO based on the items that are already added to the case.

We are transitioning from NetSuite to QBO + Method. I am looking for a parallel solution that will offer the ability to create an RMA off of a case and will allow for line items that can be received with an item receipt. I am assuming with little customization I can use the Sales Order built in side to enter the outgoing side and simply renumber the order to match the RMA.

At first look, I appear to be limited in the RMA side on how to create line items within a custom table.

How do you currently create an RMA? Do you already have something customized in Method or are you doing this in QuickBooks?

Also maybe a better question isn't how you can handle it in Method but how you want to handle it in Method, you can customize Method to fit your desired workflow.

Create a Case to document phone call.

Determine a repair of product is required, create RMA (RMA is a transaction with line items of which you can receive into inventory)

Create a sales order with custom numbering that matches the RMA indicating what we will be sending back to customer as sometimes it could be an upgrade

Customer sends in product and we receive it off the RMA

We repair it and ship it back out by fulfilling the Sale Order.

Note: It does not have to be received into inventory, but we do have to know what was received.
