This forum post may help you out http://www.methodintegration.com/cs/forums/p/2140/7822.aspx

The name field does have to be completely unique since it is the name of the Lead(And will become the name of the customer once it gets converted).

This is the error message I am getting in over 800 records:" Error:
Save Warning: The Customer/Employee/Vendor/OtherName could not be sent
to QuickBooks. This Name is already in use. Please edit the Name so
that it is unique and save again." Unfortunately we have to have the NAME field in all records..

.does not make sense as I am importing Leads and I do not want this information to end up in QB.

So the real question is if the NAME field has to be completely unique..perhaps I should just make it a number and then use the info that is in that field as the FullName as that is what the name is ..Please advise

It is not true that it is not unique in many of the cases the name does not exist in QB.

Please help resolve.

thanks
