The Admin account is only needed for the initial install.

In case you cannot decifer the last message, I was just confirming that we could set up a "dummy" account in quickbooks that does not have any rights to access any sensitive data in quickbooks, and that will be enough for Method to stay in Sync real time.

Re: Leaving Quickbooks Open

So your saying that since we have a multi user QB license, any QB user can
be logged in to QB and the sync will begin? Does that mean we can create
a QB user profile that has little or no privileges, leave that user logged on
to QB and the sync will continue to happen in real time?

If you want the live syncing that Method offers, then you need to have QB open and logged in. You can shut down QB if you would like but then you would lose out on the live syncing. Whenever your main computer (server) logs back into QB, the sync would start again. You don’t need to be the Admin in order to get the live updates. The Admin account is only required when you first setup the Method Engine. You do need to have QB open but you can be logged in as a normal user.

On the initial instruction screen, it said something to the effect that the quickbooks needs to be accessed frequently. Now on the synchronization screen (FAQ) it says that quickbooks needs to remain open.

We just purchased QB Premier and are putting it on one of our servers. If it were on a workstation, I could understand simply locking the workstation to keep the data safe. On a server, with the Quickbooks administrator accessing the server through login sessions, is it required to keep them logged into the program?

Please give me any feedback on a good procedure to keep the Quickbooks data safe, as well as keep syncronization going, even though the administrator of Quickbooks is out of the office.
