One piece of advice, create your com add-in using something old school, like VB6, and have a separate .net app for your operating code. Don't mess around with the .net wrapper or you'll find yourself wanting to jump off a cliff without a parachute. Also, your add-in should do very little work, like writing to a log file, otherwise you'll create drag.

HTH,

Getting the QB COM event handler to register properly on Vista and Win7 machines. UAC must be on, installer must elevate priviledges, user must restart QB, etc, etc.. I have been working with the Intuit SDK support team and other knowledgeable contractors.

Would you consider leveraging your knowledge and doing a custom install app?

Regards,
