Does MethodCRM have an API to programmatically submit data to the web-to-form?

Hi Community,

I'm looking to run a function on a scheulde within Method.

I can see there are options to run a function behind the load event of a webform, but wanted something more stable off the back of an extenrnal scheduled job through the Method API.

From what I can see in the forum and the API documentation, it's only possible to update tables as a normal API is designed, so I have the following questions if anyone is able to help with their experience.

1 - Is it possible to fire a function from the API?

2 - If the answer to #1 is no, is anyone running functions in Method from an external cron?

3 - I've tried hitting a webform using wget and cURL but it doesn't trigger the 'on load' function that gets fired when it's loaded using a browser.

Before I configure Selenium, is there an easier (or more stable) route to take?

Formatting in pdfs

Hi,

I have many customizations that were made in Method that I absolutely love. However, the program is lacking tremendously in it's ability to produce

nicely formatted pdfs of Invoices, Estimates and POS. Due to the nature of my business, I require the use of the text editor box to display the Descriptions of my Items.

This looks great in the portal, but once it is converted to the PDF, it looks terrible. Is there any way to get a nicely formatted pdf that reflects the info in each Item line?

I'm embarassed to send my invoices and estimates because of this issue. I've tried formatting using tables and HTML, but nothing is working. Please help.

Internal email alert - change the subject?

When our internal emails come into our Gmail, they all have the same subject so they get lumped together in gmail making it hard to reply and then track that reply within gmail. Is there any way to change the subject line to inlude the Customer's name so each email is individual?

Web-to-lead current capabilities

Method Team,

Using the Classic version of Method - if I want to create a form in the Advanced web-to-lead custom forms section, using the customer table as a base. Can I attach a link to another website in the form? If not, at the end of the form can you send the back to the original website? Can I create a pdf copy that will print for the person entering the data into the web-to-lead form? Can I create a pdf form that can be sent to SmartVault and linked back to the customer? If not, can I create a report that is saved to the customer's documents tab?

Timestamp on Field

We have a field called "Lead Acquired." When we import data into this field it contains a date and time stamp. However, when printing a reports with this field all times shown are either 12:00:00 PM or 1:00:00 PM.

Additionally, I see the same is happening when we print other date related fields on the same report.

How can we correct this?

I would love to have availavle the Method tables for import into PowerBI... PowerBi can import all sorts of formats.... web url, files, databases or whatever for import. Anyway to do this? Do I need API to do? Would take Method reporting metrics to a whole new level.

I am generating Quotes & Work Orders for 2016. I am having the following problems:

When I select the variable timing option it allow me to choose a # of intervals but it only enters dates that are spaced at 14 days apart
I am tyring to use the number of months the work orders are for & divide the total costs by those months but I don't see an expression in the report designer that allows me to do so.

Hi guys,

Any help with this would be super appreciated.

We've been using a web to customer on our site since August now. It's been working fine, but just yesterday it stopped working.

When the customer submits their info, it takes them to an error page at the following url: https://www.methodintegration.com/MethodWebForms/submit.aspx?tzId=Eastern%20Standard%20Time&ScreenResolutionWidth=1920&ScreenResolutionHeight=1080

Details of the error below.

Oddly, the info is captured and makes it into Method just fine. But the customer is now being redirected to this error page instead of the correct thank you page.

We haven't made any changes to the form since we set it up. Any thoughts on why this might have just randomly started happening?

setting up email servers

I keep getting a reminder stating "Dear account owner, recently you have setup web form Web-To-Lead and have enabled email notification, without setting up your mail server first. Please setup your email server, otherwise you will constantly be receiving these reminders. Thank you." and I havent been able to find any information on the mail server or how to set it up. Can someone tell me how to find this information? Please help!

Error posting WebForm server-side using ASP Classic

I've read the posts about web forms and it surprises me how difficult such a simple thing could be. Bascially, I used Method to generate a Basic Web-To-Lead form and changed nothing. I then took the source code and took away all of the javascript and the form HTML tags and preserved the "id" values, including the hidden boxes. The next step should be very straight forward. Create an MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP object, Open the object, set some parameters and send it away.

But for some reason, I keep getting the following annoying error:

We couldn't authenticate web form provider. Please contact web form provider for any additional information.

I read in a post on Method that the "timezonerouter.aspx" might cause some problems. So I tried submitting my test form (web2lead.asp) using it and not using it. The same issue arises.

Now, yes, ASP.NET certainly would be easier by using the Method API's web service. But unfortunately, I have not delved enough into ASP.NET to appreciate if I require code behind pages or a GUI on my page. So while it's ironic that I"m a present-day C# and .NET user, I still use good old classic ASP to get my data stuff done.

Here is my code. Hopefully someone at Method can give me some insight as to what I'm doing wrong here. It should work.

Web to Lead Forms not working since Amazon move

None of my web-to-lead forms are working correctly since Aug 22. I have several web-to-lead forms on two different domains. I have also placed several test form submissions today without a single lead coming through on the Method side. Everything appears to work on my end, yet leads are not received by Method. I have error emails turned on but have yet to receive one during this time frame. Did the submission URL change? Something else?

Problems After Enabling SSL on form page

After enabling SSL on our website for the URL https://isadors.com/home-delivery-request, our lead form is no longer working. I've added the URL to method so that it is accepting leads from the site on SSL but am still receiving an error message that reads "An error was encountered. Please contact form provider for a solution. Thank you." I have tried to think of other reasons that this change would cause problems but have run out of ideas. I'd appreciate any help I can get diagnosing this problem. Thanks!

Works Great Then Suddenly Doesn't? Honestly

Had a web form that's been working fine. Suddenly it doesn't. This is the error I get after this web form has worked for the better part of a year.

custom qualification form after lead

I have a webform on custom website which customer fills and it drops in the CRM as leads. Now, I want to create another custom form which will have few question regarding the qualification. I also want to enable this Qualification Form for certain customers after their initial evaluation. Once customer goes through intitial evaluation, I will send him a link to fill this custom form and the output will be sent to an email. Please guide me the best solution, how can i implement this in method.

Can custom form be accomodated

1) as webform, added in my site and its information will be stored in some custom table on CRM?

2) Or this form have to be in CRM itself and cannot be on my site?

3) In either of the above cases, how can i make this form part of the process. Here, I mean to say that only certain customers should be able to see this form either on CRM or I give them the link to my site if it is integrated on my website.

4) I need to send this information taken on the form to an email as well. Also can this be in form of PDF? I

5) If PDF is not possible, can I access API to retreive this information from CRM on my custom website and then create a PDF and send it to email.

As far as development has to be done on my website or API usage, I can do that very well. I am just unable to understand the flow that I will have to take for this in the Method CRM.

Please guide anyone.

Custom "Please Wait" screen

I'm creating a web form I intend to use over a graphic. The form looks great, as does the landing page, however the plain white "Your message is being sent, please wait" screen kills the concept.

Is there currently any way to change the "Please wait" screen to a custom URL, like the landing page after the form has been sent?

I customized my Activities List screen and hid the filter dropdown box. I want the "Activity Grid" to default to "Shared Occurances" but it keeps defaulting to "My active occurances on or before today" eventhough I keep changing it. Why won't it register that I'm changing it?
