I cannot give you a release date for the new version of Method as we have not yet released this publicly. I also cannot tell you what issues you will run into as it can be very unpredictable and this is the reason I do not recommend using the desktop version on a mobile browser. You can do customization to mobile screens and create your own, just make sure that you have the Optimize for mobile device option selected in the Advanced options.

I hope this helps.

As far as “issue” go when using the desktop version on a mobile brower...can you share what kind of issues we’re talking about?

Finally, is there any kind of customization or personalization possible with the mobile version? If so, can you tell me how to access settings?

I would not recommend using the desktop version of Method in a mobile browser. When we built the desktop version of Method, we did not have mobile in mind at the time. The desktop version uses the iframe element, which is not supported by mobile browsers. If you continue to use the desktop version in a mobile browser you will likely run into issues due to this.

We currently have a new version of Method in the works due to be released soon. When building this version, we built it so that it would be fully cross platform on both mobile and desktop. This way you will have a completely uniform experience on any platform. Keep on the lookout for this release.

I hope this helps.

"Browser-based versions of Gmail users - the Gmail Gadget works in all major, modern browsers (Chrome, Safari, FireFox, IE8+). It does not work in mobile versions of Gmail (neither mobile browser optimized versions nor native versions)."

But if you monkey around with gmail your browser (not gmail app, and maybe the mobile browser must be Chrome?) you can choose the desktop version of gmail on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and the Google Gadget works great. I also find that the user experience within Method on a tablet (iPad or Android) is better when using the desktop version, not the mobile version.

FWIW, although I have only done limited testing to date, the one thing to note is that the text of email templates in iOS shows up as html. On Android, it displays as rich text. I haven't found a workaround for this yet, and it may make us choose Android over iOS devices in the future.

I would be happy to upload photos or a video somewhere, if that would be helpful to others.
