Getting error message when adding linked field

I'm getting an error message when trying to add a linked field that is also a linked field on another table.

Incidentally, it left me click OK and Back and the field was saved.

Need Attachment Location in the send email action - significant limitation

We really need Attachment Location in the send email action. I have clients that really need this as they do not want to have someone need to follow a portal link to get to a simple document.

I've been told this is on the roadmap, but if you're using beta you need to be aware of this limitation.

Strange behavior with Insert Activity action

I'm having some strange behavior with the insert record in the table action for activities.

I am trying to insert a comment from a text box on the screen. I cannot get it to insert. Even tried updating field in table after the insert. Also having some problems with a few other custom fields I use.

I had also added the priority field and have no problem with this.

Activity Timestamp on App Ribbons

When viewing the contact, click edit entity. Then delete the entity. It takes you to the contact list, and leaves the View Contact screen open with only the contact displayed.

URGENT - Getting error on grid search

I created a grid on the sales order line table to display special order items. When I use the search field I get this error message.

I checked settings, etc. and can't find anything wrong. I am able to search the purchase order grid just fine.

Feedback:

Overall, I like the new look and functionality. It does take some getting used to if you are comfortable with Method:Old. I'm not sure it has all of the functionality that is available in M:O, but that may be by design.

Questions/Suggestions:

1) It would be nice to have the cursor/pointer start spinning, or something, so that you know that your "click" is processing. I find my work flow slowed because I click, thinking that I'm on my way to a new screen, when in fact nothing has happened.

2) Please make ENTER perform the same function as clicking on the search magnifying glass.

3) Will solutions be available via M:N? I see no place for them.

4) In M:O, it was possible to link a solution to a document stored elsewhere. Is a similar functionality available in M:N, whether or not it is associated with Solutions. I'd like to create a button that opens up a document on my server.

5) I have read about App Ribbons and watched the tutorials; however, I cannot find any place that shows whether or not a specific app will appear on another app's ribbon, nor can I see how to edit the funtionality of the apps on the ribbons. Example: In the View Contact screen, when you click on Sales Receipt, it brings up a list of 5 SR's. What if I wanted that to display 10 or 15? Is this editable?

6) I want to change what is displayed when I click on the Sales Receipt button in the App Ribbon. I found where that can be done, but when I attempt to do so, it says that only the publisher can make these changes.

7) Although I have changed the preference to have commas used in my numbers, this is not working. The "Use thousands separator" is turned on, but no commas.

8) Some of the tutorials appear to be dated already. He shows a button or certain choices that do not exist. They are still useful, though.

9) When I am in the View Contact screen and looking at a specific customer, something very odd is happening. In the header there are three lines: contact, company, and entity. In this one particular contact where the contact and company are one in the same, there are three words: Artemis Rising Foundation. In the Contact line, the "g" does not appear. I have checked every place imaginable for a misspelling, but they are all correct.

10) Tags - These would be very useful if there was a single tag list rather than one for contacts and other(s) for other purposes. There is a Tag option in the Sales Receipt screen, but it is not the same Tags as in the contact screen. Why? I would like to be able to link a specific transaction from a customer to a specific vendor and it seems like a common tag would be ideal.

On a date picker object, it displays the date as Mar-03-2015. If you click in it and type in a date such as 3-2-2015 it goes to Jan-2-2015 instead of Mar-2-2015.

HTML Editor Height

I changed the height of an HTML Editor object to 100 %. When I save, close and go back into the editor the height is reverted back to 100 Px instead of %.

Checkbox on grids do not clear on refresh

The checkbox on a grid doesn't seem to clear on refresh. I am looping through a grid, updating some fields in a table and calling refresh at the end. The checkboxes remain checked, but the fields are updated.

I have a situation where I'm using the action Assigned Value to Shared Result. I was sharing three values.

A little later I opened the action to add the fourth value. It changed the value on the line just above it See screen shots

Image Object creates error when Can Be Edited is unchecked

Only one small bug I found so far. The image object creates an error message when can be edited is unchecked.

There are cases where you may want to restrict editing, like in a View screen.

Manage Tags Permission

As the admin user I am able to manage tags within my account. However another non-admin user is not able to manage tags. It says they do not have permission and to contact the administrator. How do I give them permission to manage tags?

Having problem creating app ribbon for my Projects app

I am trying to add an apt ribbon to My Projects App. Here is a screenshot of my configuration.

When I click the filtering button. I get this error message.

When I edit the app ribbon the following fields are blank.

When I view the details on my Contacts App I see this.

I can click on the link that says undefined and it takes me to the project. How do I get this to display more detailed information?

I have a situation where Show Message action truncates a url that is stored in a field in a table.

I ran a loop trough my Method Forums Grid to grab a few things to email to Michael.

I use an expression and store the value in an action result then show message so I can place in an email.

Would you consider decreasing the font size on an App Name? Names like Email Templates and even Purchase Order are truncated.

Can't clear date

I have a Date field on a screen that is set to show the date only, no time. I tried to clear the value and get this message: StartDate failed formatting the value 12:00:00 to a Short Date.

Placeholder text not italicized on a drop-down field

I just noticed the placeholder values are not italicized on a drop-down field where as they are in a text field.

Not that this is critical, just wanting to help make method new the application of choice for QB users!
