What is the best way to have method remind me of employee birthdays?

I have a sum of activityamount in a group footer, if I move it to differents parts of the template the math will not work anymore, is there a way to get that total once is calculated and put it in a field so I can use it in different parts of the template

Can a word doc be imported to the template designer and then edited it? Or do I have to type all pages manually. Thanks
