• Re: Debugging

Blake, It's been really hard for me to adjust to "flying blind" compared to other systems I've integrated/supported/etc., but I can say I've found the overall Method platform really stable and I think the developer's have done a really good job of providing tools for the non-software development user that are robust ...

  • Re: Closing Sales Order Line Items

Thanks Michael. Knowing you don't see an obvious flaw or better solution really helps. This is working well in testing.

  • Re: Closing Sales Order Line Items

Okay, I think I have a solution. QB maintains the field IsFullyInvoiced at the Sales Order Level. By adding IsFullyInvoiced to the Sales Order Line Items table, the Sales Order Line will effectively Close when the Order is fully invoiced. I think this might be the most elegant solution. As we are using SalesOrderLineItems as Make to ...

  • Re: Debugging

Blake, I'm curious as to how you're making out with this. I never really resolved the issue of how to debug more complicated logic as messages provided by Method in debug mode are a bit dumbed down, friendly and chatty, but not very useful. The only technique that appears available is to use the Show Message Action, and ...

  • Re: Closing Sales Order Line Items

We'll have many sales orders and each sales order will have multiple items. Each sales order may have one or several NonInventory Items of our principle make to order product, sand castings, from a tooling inventory of 1000's or as custom. Each principle Item or casting may require additional line items for special services or ...

  • Re: Saving Changes to Items QB Conflict

Michael, I just wanted to let you know that I can repeat this predictably and I'll send you a screen shot. It's not a big problem and easily worked around, but a bit cumbersome when editing a lot of items, I'll characterize for you in the mail. Cheers, James

  • Closing Sales Order Line Items

I'm wondering if there is a recommended strategy for closing sales order line items in Method. I can see that Sales Orders have isFullyInvoiced and isManuallyClosed boolean fields to manage the open or closed status of an order, but we need to treat each Sales Order Line for a NonInventory part as a "Job" and maintain open or closed ...

  • Re: Saving Changes to Items QB Conflict

No, in a detail screen. But, now of course it's working perfectly. I'll get a good characterization and screen shot when it comes up again. For some reason it appears to work itself out as the system gets excercised. It appears to occur with a virgin session.

  • Saving Changes to Items QB Conflict

I'm having a problem saving changes to Items. When attempting to save a change to an existing item where a non accounting, non QB field is being changed, or in other words changes just to custom fields in Method, a popup message is being returned which says: "The item could not be sent to Quickbooks. The item is already in ...

  • Re: Assign Ref Numbers in Method

I'm not thinking about only my business either and with extensive engineering, business, and IT experience in businesses of all sizes from the very largest to the smallest I can say with confidence that I believe improving the performance and stability of key field updating and synching should be a priority for Method development and I applaud ...
