Hi Blake,
The "Seek next in selection list" action will get the next value of the selection list after the specified value. For instance, if you had a selection list of the alphabet, you could use this action to grab the next value after 'C'. Which would obviously be 'D'. You can find a bit more ...

When you set up a new Lead or Customer, in the Additional Info tab you have the option to select Price Level. When I assign a Price Level from the list to a contact and then I proceed to create an estimate for that contact the prices that are reflected are still the standard price level. It would seem if you can select the price level then when ...

The support team received this email: Can I modify the invoice PDF provided on the customer portal? If yes, where’s the menu item? If not, is this a custom job that’s available?
Darryl,

Hi Suzanne,
The opt-out of billing setting prevents billing emails from being sent to the contact. It won't prevent any invoice/estimate, etc.. from being created. And yes, when an alt contact is created, the opt-out option is checked already.

Anyone have an example of how the Character Function action 'Seek next in selection list' works and/or how it can be useful?
I'm wondering if this is action will help me loop over a comma separated list of values entered by my users on a screen?
Thx

Hi,
This probably sounds like a stupid question -- Does the Opt out of Billing feature prevent an invoice from being created from a work order? I would assume so.
Also, i'm assuming that it's intentional that when you create an Alt Contact, the Opt out of Billing feature is automatically checked.

Here's another example, which we just came across on a blog post after performing a Google search. Keep in mind that this isn't something we created nor was it typed up by anyone from Method.

The link I included above lists both VBA/Excel and ASP examples, I'm sure you'd find the latter resourceful. If you hit a road block or have any questions feel free to post on our API forums.
Alternatively you can speak with one of our Method Solution Providers (MSP) for assistance on writing your code.

Was just hoping to find a set of code that would give me a good startig point instead of having to write everything form scratch. I can write it from ground up but was hoping to not have to, would save time if I had a decent starting point. I know I would have to do custom coding either but the less I would have to write the better. ...

Hi Ben,
We actually have a Help Center article that explains how to add/edit selections in a dropdown list. You can find it here. Basically, when you create the dropdown field a screen is automatically created with the same name. From this screen, you can add add/edit employees.
