I find the 'Show Summary' for a screen to be very useful when performing customization. I have noticed, though, that grid action sets are not included in the summary. I suggest adding the grid actions to the screen summary.

So I updated without the spaces at the end of the sales reps and I'm waiting for the sync.
Incidentally, in Resolve Confilcts, I get this message for a single record at the update time: "QuickBooks returned an error when adding/modifying a accEntity record. The error was: There was an error when composing an address in "". ...

Well, sync is updated and the changes didn't take.

Keeping the 5 spaces appears to have worked, but then, I'll have to wait for synchronization.
As stated earlier, in the Quickbooks tab, the most recent "Changes Only" synchronization time is 6:04PM, and the most recent "Push" time is 6:18PM.
But I updated at 6:22 PM so we'll see when those times pass my update time. ...

More details:
When I ook at the "Contact" field on the new activity screen, I see the following filter is applied:
"SalesRepRecordID is one of in value from session SharedListSalesRep"
To refresh - the 3 fields shown in this dropdown are:
Name via ContactsName
CompanyName
EntityType
As an admin, I can log activities ...

You could try that but I really don't think that's the issue here. Let me know if adding that did anything.

Thanks for the additional detail - I need to review a few things around roles before replying back to this thread. I have not played with the role feature enough to give a good answer on this one yet.
