Ah! I was unaware that I needed to add a gateway for each card type. My intuition told me that one gateway for all of our customers would be the way. Anyways, it looks like I fixed it. I will chime in again if something breaks.

So i didn't catch the answer about the payment gateway? how do i get the dropdown to show visa, master, discover, amex right now i just had to make it say something generic like "credit card"

I would need the error message to be able to better troubleshoot this issue.
As far different payment types you will just need to add multiple payment gateways under Customize > My Account > Payment Gateways.
If you wanted it to show Visa, Mastercard and AmEx, you would create 3 payment gates with the Payment Gateway Name ...

Intuit support is saying that there are no known issues with their portals and that they only provide the portal.
