I wish it was that easy, but I had already been using port 587 on MS Office 365 and using port 587 with AT&T returns a message that says secure connections are not allowed.

If we take a look at opportunities, here are the steps you would take to attached a document.
Click Opportunities > Opportunities List.
Click Go To... next to any opportunity.
Click the Documents tab ...

i don't even see what your talking about under opportunities ...can you break that down a bit more for me...if i go to customize/tablesfields/customer/edit fields i don't see how that adds a file attachment?

The simplest way to do this at the moment would be to add a File Attachment field to the Customer table, and then drag then add that field to your screen. This would allow you to add one image per customer.
Currently adding files is not supported on mobile.

So at the moment it is doing this by design to get around this you can start entering the address data starting at the second line (BillToAddressAddr2). This will most likely be changed at some point but I can't give you an ETA on it.

To a customer would be the most helpful, and if the mobile browser could have a neat function to upload photo from camera of the phone would be super. but in the office if we wanted to scan documents and attach them to the customer file like a contract or layout of the installation or whatnot is where i'm going

At first I was doing that (do a SUM for records in the grid), but then I was faced with trying to manually select the first row in that grid so I just decided to load the tab again knowing this would be the easiest.
In the end, it was the easiest. Check the link in my post to see the actions I wound up using to get it done.

To update this thread, we were able to help you out via consulting time. At your request here is what we went through together.
You didn't actually delete the field (as per my note above), you simply removed the grid column for 'IsIncludedOnInvoice' To correct this, we added the column back with the exact same name as it had ...
