I actually have already used the import/export tool to update those records with
records with blank values in the columns for portal username and
password. It zipped through the upload and made no changes to the records.

You could loop through the table and update those fields with a blank or you could use the import/export tool to update those records with records with blank values in the columns for portal username and password.

How do you upload values into a field for the purpose of clearing the field? I uploaded portal user/password information and I would like to clear it. How do I got about doing this?

The screens that you would see this on our listed in the blog HERE.
Customized Screens will not be updated to display the Next / Last Activity date but the data exists in the background in the LastActivityCompletedDate and NextActivityDueDate fields.
