I will have to test this, I believe there may be a check built into the tool. The other of looping through a table should work though.

Yes, I've seen that blog. That is what prompted my question. We have changed the Leads & Customers List and the Opportunities List a little, so I would understand why the 2 columns would not be there. We have not touched the Cases List. Why don't I see the new columns there? Where do you enter ...

I actually have already used the import/export tool to update those records with
records with blank values in the columns for portal username and
password. It zipped through the upload and made no changes to the records.

You could loop through the table and update those fields with a blank or you could use the import/export tool to update those records with records with blank values in the columns for portal username and password.
