Using Field Service Management. Did not change anything. Suddenly getting this error when trying to create an invoice or click on a record in a calendar:

What you are looking to do is possible in Method it would just involve some customization of screens to organize the uploaded files to better suit your particular needs. Some users may have already done something like this and may provide great insight :).

Looking at the opportunity table a lot of the data about the customer/contact is obtained through linked fields.
If you are looking for the customer name to be displayed in the SalesOrder table, you can link the Name field into the SalesOrder using Customer.
