As far as I know there are no action triggering events that occur without someone logging into method.
To accomplish a completely automatic system you would need to create a separate application that uses Method's API. This isn't terribly complicated but does require programming.

I created the new table, MyRep, with only my active sales rep entries and the fields I need. However, I cannot link any fields between that table and my Customer table (from either direction).
I can probably ultimately figure out how to use actions to pull that into my email, but if I can't create a linked field, I'm unclear on how ...

I got a call from a customer today saying he could not send me or respond to a case from his computer while in the portal. I tried it on mine using IE 8.0 and i could not send a respnce about a open case. I filled the form and it was saying i needed a value in the Responce box.
This is the standard method ...

While the button click kicking off the process the way you describe is not completely automated, I think I see how your solution works...seems easy enough to do.
I seem to remember reading somewhere on these forums that scheduled tasks/functions isn't a feature Method has, yet...am I remembering correctly?

For example, you could have a series of actions execute in response to an event like a button click.
