Method Community

I believe the ambiguity is ultimately because of how the QuickBooks customer record is designed, and Method was, of course, built around QuickBooks.  A customer record in QB can be a person or a company, allowing Method/QB to be used in a B2C environment as well as B2B.

Coming from a background of ACT and Sugar, I had a hard time wrapping my head around how QB organizes this too. What helped me is adding the Company name field to the Existing Customers and Vendor grids in the old Method version. You don't need to do this in the new design. What's still weird to me is, a Customer is not required to belong ...

In Method there is a Character Function action that has the ability to concatonate to text values together, you can place this action on the Lose Focus event of the Name field so that once the field is populated and the user navigates away from it, it combines the values and then you can place that new value on a field ...

Hi Matt, You would need to add a grid to the screen and make that grid reference the PropertyInformation table. If in the property information table you have a drop down the references the customer table then you can add it as an attached grid, otherwise you will have to add it as a detached grid. Say my customer company names are Alpha, Beta, etc.  I have opportunities that come in.  So, maybe I am going to dig a ditch through a field for Alpha.  I will call the opportunity Ditch Through Field.  Once that Opportunity has been named, I want a field (perhaps called Full Opportunity Name)  to automatically be updated ...

I created a custom table and called it "PropertyInformation"  I want it to show on the "Customers" screen along side of the fields: Address Info, Additional Info, Payment & Job Info, Transactions, Activities & Work Orders fields.  How do I do that?

 Victor, No luck.....I also had the "Assign QuickBooks categories" activated.  I thought maybe this was causing the problem.  I've inactivated this feature and I'm still getting the same result.  :/
