Is it possible to filter the Existing Sales Receipt grid to only show sales receipts with any line items that have the Item Name containing "xxxx"?
I also tried to create a screen using the SalesReceiptLine table, but the Customer field is not in this table as I'm accustomed to seeing using QODBC.

You would have to edit the screen and set the default value on the drop down object itself. You should be able to set it on the first screen that is displayed after clicking Edit on the drop down.

Currently there is no screen to add items to the the ActivityInvoiceType drop down but you can create a screen based on the ActivityInvoiceType table and and use that custom screen to add items to the drop down.

The next time this happens check to see if the adjustment is showing up in QB ( As Mark suggested) and check the QTY's in QB.
