Brian, sounds like you turned debugging on.
To turn it off, go to Customize > Display, and disable it.

Whenever I click a button that I've created there's a dialog box that pops up telling me the results of each action. Is there a way to turn this off? I'm ready to demonstrate my project and would rather not have the dialog showing up every time someone clicks a button.

The Import Tool will allow you to select either, update based on a key field(s) or to add the data as new records. You must specify one or the other.

You shouldn’t have to move to the top of the screen every time. This message should only appear if an action sequence is triggered before the screen has completed loading.

Is there a setting for the sync engine to not auto launch every time you open Quick Books?? - it really slows things down and is not necessary to sync every time we open the program.
