Thank you. This worked fine (actually, I didn't quite follow the first suggestion). But, I'm not sure I understand why it needs to be refreshed while other filtered grids don't need to be?

Yes, it seems to be working. I didn't realize that the list was unsorted (or sorted by some criteria I can't identify), so when I got to the end of the list and was looking at Nov09 transactions, I made a (faulty) assumption, apparently.

Looking back at this you could still have the detached grid and add a linked field to the InvoiceLine table that gets the Customer from the Invoice table. Then filter the grid by the full name and refresh the grid using actions on the select link.

Using the access you provided, I am able to see Invoices from Jan-2009 currently in your account. Sort the Existing Invoices grid by date and scroll through the multiple pages.
The Sync options seem to be working as they should. Can you confirm?

You can actually use an attached grid on the Customer screen. This will work nice because each time you select or change a customer record it will display the properly filtered info.
