Thanks Amanda.  The use of sub reports would be a great tool to have in the future.  It could solve a lot of issues we are currently experiencing and would give more flexibility to reporting.

just seen the work orders are appearing on the calender but i cannot see then in the current work order page,?   is there a page where i can find out how to use the work order function correctly, i have a feeling this is not working because i am not sure if i am using it correctly :) thanks

 Amanda, Since I have tried several add-ins etc over the past couple years, per your suggestion, I reinstalled Outlook on my PC.   The result was a bit messy.  The new install disconnected me from my .pst file so I initially lost my data.  Got that back, although now it shows up in a seperate folder.  Still ...

Marcus and Joe - to get around the annoyance (and we admit......it is pretty annoying!), can you use IE8 for the next couple days?  Correct me if I'm wrong - I believe it is only a FireFox issue right now. Paul
