Hi Dan,
I just thought of another solution for your question. The import/export feature will also help you out in this situation:
1. Export the customer table (be sure to export RecordID) and Sales Rep field
2. Update the Sales Rep
3. Import the revised excel back into the customer table
4. It should then prompt you to update instead of ...

Thank you. I exported a contact list and used the exact export to re-import having changed only the first and last name. This way and I can see if this test contact will associated with the right customer/lead. Entity, of course, matches the Entity I'm trying to add a contact to. Other irrelevant fields were marked as "do not ...

We have about 66,000 customer records to import into method. Each one of these will also have a related set of information imported (serial number, version, and product info) into a custom table that we have created and linked to the customer info. Many of the customers will have two or more registration entries.
1. Will method function normally ...

Shane - when you are ready to import your leads, here are two things to keep in mind:
1. Make sure you run a test first with just a few leads to make sure you like the results.

It's a bit disappointing that Intuit is not supporting the new fields in the SDK, but they are good about not breaking legacy functionality so building the extra fields into Method sounds like a good solution.

Ryan,
I realized that after I posted the above, added the name field, and get the same error one number higher (25 fields, 26 records.)
??
Also, I've tried eliminating various combinations of columns to see if one in particular was causing a problem. I got the import to work with the Name and LeadSource columns ...

Ok...bringing the off set discussion back to the forum...
After emailing the list, here is Ryan's response:
Dale,
Paul sent me the spreadsheet you submitted for us. It looks like some of the column headings are not actually fields on the ...

Jen,
Thank you for your post.
Method does not allow duplicate 'Tag' names for Entities and Contacts i.e. 'Client' in the Entity TagList would have to be added to Contact TagList different in a different format i.e. "Clientjen'. This is becuase both are seperate tables and duplicates cannot ...

Thanks, it worked. Was there something I was doing wrong?
We may need your help again for the full list. Wayne and I have plans to purge Method of all customers and leads are re-populate it due to a problem with Quickbooks.

Thanks Justin - I'll check it out. I had seen QB's new(ish) Constant Contact import feature so I was hoping that would save a couple of steps, but the priority is for it to come in correctly. I'll take a look - thanks again.
