I changed the sales rep for a number of customers in the Edit Customer screen. My dashboards now reflect these new rep associations. However, sales orders (invoice screen) still populate the Sales Rep field with the old rep, and when I export the Customer table, the old rep associations are there as well. Oops - I was under the impression that using other apps (ie. to launch or view documents) and then going back to Safari meant that the user would be logged out, but that's not the case. Safari is just minimized and when it's re-opened, it goes back to the page, logged in.

So if I'm reading you correctly, it would be best to design a Mapping screen where a user could select customers/leads from a particular city/region and then press a button that initiates a map pop-up and plots the locations.
