How long should it take to insert 100 records to a table with approximately 10 fields?

I seem to remember that you can add a field that as a specific name to a table and this field will effectively act as a timestamp.  What is the special name?

Hi We've solved this for several customers by have the refNumber assigned in Method using a custom script.

Is there some sort mechanism to determine if a record in method has been updated?  ie Timestamp
