Grid column actions don't work unless row is checked

I have a client who signs into method with Google. For the last week they are getting this pop up. They can click allow, but they still get the message every time. And suggestions?

The default New Activity for an Opportunity does not seem to respect the default activity that is selected in Activity Preferences. Is this by design?
