If you only need to remove a few duplicates you can click the check box next to each contact and click Remove Checked at the bottom of the screen. However if you have a large number of duplicates then we need to know how your list was created.

Yes you can change your Default Email Preferences in Method CRM by clicking on Customize > My Account > and then click on the (view / edit...) link next to Default Email Preferences.
