Hi Andy,
Those areas in the item screen are left over from the old Method Warehouse app, which has been legacied and we no longer support. You would need the Method Warehouse app to use those fields. Since it has been discontinued, unless you already have it installed, there is no way to access it.

This really depends on how you wish to approach this. If you were to import each lead, several thousand a year, and few of which become actual leads then you may have thousands of dead leads in Method. You can certainly do this, then possibly design a screen to 'purge' the list once in awhile.

Since you have your equipment already in Method as fixed assets, instead of using the equipment field, you can customize the grid on the Add/Edit Work Order screen to allow you to select a fixed asset for that job item. How do you want to filter the report? Can you provide an example of what you are looking to do? It is generally better to use Method to filter the report. There is a filter section on the Generate Report action that you can use to filter based on the criteria you need.
