Try joining on the appropriate RecordID fields as opposed to a name field.

I did, and that value was the value of the database entry underneath the custom SQL override (i.e. NOT the override value).
Is there a way to get the custom SQL override value when looping through a grid?

Make sure your Go to TabLink action references your new screen. This will be a grid action behind the "Go to"

Did you change action to Get the VALUE from ROW - since you are in a loop?

When I get the value of a grid element from the current row using VALUE FROM SCREEN, I am able to get the result of the custom SQL value for that cell. However, when I am looping a grid, it seems this is not possible. Is there a way around this that I am not seeing?

Sort of hard to see the activities on the calendar - the text is jumbled and large, so it's apparent something is there but you can't see what it is...
Could you add an "on hover" function to where you hover the mouse pointer over the activity and a pop out box shows a zoomed-in quick view of the activity?
