I've tried reproducing this on my end, however the calculated field referencing the linked field prints sucessfully in the report designer. Can you post a screenshot of the expression in your calculated field? (You can use a free image hosting site such as imgur.com)

I figured out that you can indeed use the API to insert invocies but there are 2 tables involved. How do I link Bill and BillLineItem tables togther when we use API for the invoice insertation? Anything else we should look out for? Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Tennnic,
I've reproduced this on my end, looks like the field doesn't get refreshed. To resolve this, you can add an action to the Contact dropdown, on the Text Change event, to update the textbox on screen. Add the action at the bottom of the existing actions.
Please try these settings for the action:

Are you getting that error message when Save & New is clicked, or when you try to save the next Invoice?
Based on this error message, it seems that a line item is trying to be added to the invoice before the invoice is saved. The issue with this is that line items reference the RecordID of the Invoice, and that RecordID ...

I have a linked field in SalesOrderLine to SalesOrder.DueDate and this field is relabeled StartDueDate in the linked Field. I can see StartDueDate on my reports.
