Hi Tennnic,
I've reproduced this on my end, looks like the field doesn't get refreshed. To resolve this, you can add an action to the Contact dropdown, on the Text Change event, to update the textbox on screen. Add the action at the bottom of the existing actions.
Please try these settings for the action:

I have a linked field in SalesOrderLine to SalesOrder.DueDate and this field is relabeled StartDueDate in the linked Field. I can see StartDueDate on my reports. There could be an error in your calculated field code (such as a syntax error), which would prevent any value from being displayed. Can you please post the expression you are using in your calculated field?
