Your RAM is still a little low for a Server 2008 Datacenter setup, but it does meet the minimum. Are you sure its entirely the Method engine taking up 100% of the resources, or are 100% of the resources being used when its running/syncing? Have you tried shutting down the Method engine and just running Quickbooks? How ...

OS is Server 2008 Datacentre R2 x64.
QuickBooks is 2012 Pro.
Nothing else running really as it's a dedicated server for QuickBooks.

Your initial settings were definitely low. Which version of QB are you using? What OS and other processes are running?

We have just moved to a hosted QuickBooks solution (virtual server).
The server spec was 650 MB's of RAM with a single 2.40 GHz CPU. The Method Integration Engine was using 100% of the CPU so we upgraded to 1.8 GB's of RAM and two CPU's on the advice of the hosting provider.

You would need to set the filter directly on the dropdown field so something like an OnScreenLoad event won't work.
