I am trying to make a button (in a mobile screen) that will set the status or a workorder to Completed.  I can make a button ok, I can make said button set other fields, but not the status field.  Maybe because the field is controlled by a dropdown menu, or something?  What am I missing?

Hi Andrew, if it is a dropdown field the value you are using to set has to be one of the options in the dropdown.

thanks mandeep, i am trying to set the workorder status field to completed. Completed is in the dropdown already. i am using the exact same text andcase as the menu.

I got it to work on the stock screen, hopefully this screenshot helps you out. 

The field that needs to be updated is the   Status*.

ok,that looks like what i have. I can set other fields, and i can move to the status* field, but set field does nothing on that field.  can u give me a screenshot of the settings for the set field command. Maybe i have something wrong there.

Ive been through most of the customization webinars.  I am attempting to use the information i aquired from the webinars, but it does not seem to work as described. Since you have gotten it to work using the same approach that I used, maybe you could confirm what settings you used in the "set field" command.  (text/value) and (type in/act. result/from session/from screen/from row).  I tried both "text" and "Value" coupled with"type in" but it does nothing. Or could you point me to the webinar that explains the dropddwn attribute settings.  It is mentioned in a cursory manner in the first "intro to actions" seminar.  If all else fails, is there a place I can use sql, or something to affect changes in the tables?

Hi Andrew, I think there is some confusion here.  The action you need to use is the "Enter Value Into Field On Screen", with the attribute as Text, with Type In.
